FWIW, I'm pretty sure that "aliasing" is an umbrella term for various types of image distortion caused by sampling. "Moire" is one such type of image distortion. So moire is a type of alisaing.

Technically that may be right. But in common usage, the distinction seems to be made much as I described (including Barry's correction on color.)
