THE MOIRÈ EFFECT - a new short film by Ted Arabian

Yeah, bad ass is right! I love his look. One reason he got the role. And it didn't hurt that he came in really understanding the role.

And yeah... he is a martial artist. I am thinking of revamping my script a tad! :)

Ted, I visited Farruh's site (www.dunganproductions.com) and I think there are more casting opportunities available that you should pursue. To the TEDMOBILE! Destination Maine!

Hee Hee.... you saw that, did you? :D Yeah, he has a lot of "extra" possibilities!

hmmm..... Aram, thanks for point that out. I wasn't even looking at their fingernails! Back to the drawing board!

update......

Almost done casting. Waiting on commitment from two actors.

Shooting starts this week!

Woo Hoo!!!!

I just received thumbs up from SAG for a SAG Short FIlm contract!!!

I had no intention of going SAG but I had this one guy show up and he was great for the role of the President of the United States! But he was SAG!

Well, I immediately contacted SAG and got the ball rolling. And now I've just been given the necessary Exhibit G forms with a green light!!!

Very happy.

Future reference.... I will always consider getting this SAG contract from day one. I had no idea that I could even use SAG actors but with the gracious amendments to their structure for low budget Indie films, I can! But the paper work MUST be done several days to weeks in advance of the shoot. I was able to do some sweet-talk (or was it just playing dumb!) and got this paperwork down in a hurry!

Awesome!!! I am very excited!

Good Luck Brother! I am diggin the look of the actors. Is it just the guy or the gals too?

Well, I have only hired the actor in that photo.... But if he brought the girls to the set... well, I wouldn't kick them off.

These photos of Farruh are from his own production "Bullet 17." Until I get my own bts of him, these will do!

Thanks Mark. I am very excited about this project. Each time I learn so much. I hope that I can produce the vision that is in my head.

I am sure that you will have no trouble producing your vision. You California filmmakers are born for this stuff! It doesn't come naturally in New Hampshire! (okay... I am just playing. I am from California and I can't freakin' get this right yet! Hope you do better! )

thanks for the props... but the key I believe is that you keep trying.... Each time I do any of this stuff, I get better so I keep trying... eventually we will get it!

Absolutely! I learn so much each time I shoot. I always put a few "targets" to shoot for on the menu. This time I am going for that all elusive "FILM LOOK!" My stuff always feel more like a video.

I know that a lot of it is in the lighting. Some of it is with the camera settings. MUCH of it is the operator!!!

It is also in the use of the DOF. Good luck Ted!:engel017:

I know. I know! Believe me.... I KNOW!

I so want a 35mm adapter. I know that is what I really need in my arsenal.

I have this static one but I just cannot get the results that I want with it. So soft on the edges.

Hey Matt, I had a nice PM exchange with your Dad. Seems like a very cool guy.

He is a great guy. Best Dad there is in my opinion. I am the second best in training now that I am a daddy. Ted, I wish you were out this way. I think I could bring some guys for a weekend with an adapter for ya. Can't any of those east coast guys get you one for your shoot? Tell em to get moving and collaborate! :2vrolijk_08:

Man, that would be nice.

I tried to get Aram on my shoot with his Brevis but he's busy.

And I don't know anyone else in the area with an adapter! (I need to talk Bosindy into buying one!)

......

Good luck your attempt to beat your dad at fatherhood! :) Pretty awesome for you.
