The Magicians LED

I liked it. Have you tired masking out the light? You might have issues with cutting the flare in half when you do that. Would probably be better to mask it physically in the future.

An interesting concept. Given the subject, my first thought is that as the viewer, I want to see everything the magician is doing, whether it be cool card handling or performing a trick. The beginning, with the fast spinning seems to work alright, but as it slows, its "painful" when he goes dark for a second or two.

I agree with Ryan...I think it would work better if it spun at a faster and more consistent rate...in my eyes, it's not really a strobe any other way.
...but I like the idea of this for sure. What LED light is that??

Yeah, as far as exposing the light goes... this was for a cinematography class and we had to expose the light source, but masking it out would provide interesting results I'm sure.

I'm also glad that you guys bring up the light intervals. I purposefully wanted to "reveal less and less" as the light spun to coincide with the viewers desire to "see more". I felt that adding pools of darkness to the card handling would evoke a much deeper mysticism than a blatant revelation.

But definitely interesting to hear. Thanks for the feedback

Interesting. I kind of like the lighting effect.

Curious about the purpose of the video though...for gigs or potential clients, I've always felt it's very important to keep his face in most of the frame. If it's for Dan and Dave's site, or ellusionist or something, then the usual hands and flourishes bit is fine...
