FEATURE: THE LOST CHILDREN - A FEATURE FILM by Mark Harris

Mark I will PM you a link when it's done in about 2 weeks, I just need 3 quick VFX shots done in AE before it's finished.
My short is a just a "test" for investors, and for myself, to see if i could put together a found footage style movie.

It is not a well thought out or scripted mega-production like yours. but i will still send it to you when it's completed and you can give me feedback.

Def look forward to seeing it.

Some pick-up shots at the observatory today with actual Astronomer and professor. Click to make bigger.

We're including interviews with real people on some of the subjects in the film. One reason is to help encourage that blurring of the lines between fact and fiction. But also to help foster discussion on the topics in the film, and hopefully use that to drive interest to the film from those communities. So hopefully people interested in astronomy might find this material on the web, and then learn about the film through that. Likewise with the paranormal stuff.

I shot about 2 hrs of footage with this astronomer today, so much that I am considering something like a 15-20 minute mini-doc to accompany the film. He said a lot of amazing stuff, but also by his own admission, he's a ham. His son is some kind of Hollywood film producer, and he's appeared in a couple his films. Great guy and taught me a lot.

Currently seeking some paranormal experts, if you know any.

Yeah, it's pretty cool, even something as simple as this:

"Room Tone" from Apple loops

Now pitched down a hair:

Very subtle.

I just found what appears to be a useful plugin. It lets you pitch shift only the reverb. I haven't tried it out yet, but I'll report back once I see if it might be worthwhile for film sound design. It's also free.

Thanks Drew! Post has been delayed a bit due to some other big things coming down, but also have the chance to do a nice kick-off event in March. Also, Drew, will get with your girl about that thing soon. Thanks!

Mr Mark Harris... Mr Matt Harris demands a trailer. I say you obey your distant relative.

It's true that i used the name DEFCON for many years on DVXuser due to the fact that Mark's name was so close to mine. But I finally reclaimed my last name.

Patience. There are many things afoot right now, which are delaying the film bit, but which will ultimately mean a lot to the film's success. Deals are being made. Backs are being scratched. But soon there will be updates...soon. And Matt, i will indeed still be in touch. As I said, some little delays but it's all good.

But now I must go prepared to be banned, due to another post.

Sorry to disappoint you, Mark, but that post is not worth banning you over. :D

Hey guys, sorry been off the grid with this. I've been crazy busy. Moving my software business in a new direction. Working on a new business model that involves developing technologies for cross-platform storytelling, then spinning those off to finance projects. May have some exciting news about that stuff soon...

BUT, also on the edit hard. Now making many many fine tunes of ACT II and ACT III, working towards test screenings in March. One in NYC, one in LA.

Let's see, got the chance to pitch...for the chance to pitch to some new money people. Waiting to hear if that comes through. If it does, in April I'll get up in front of some peeps for a song and dance act. Trying to work on something more subtle than: "come on, gimme the money, what they hell else you got to do with it?"

It's getting there. Right now, the big goal is the test screening for feedback in March.

We'll do one here and one with Cinema Speakeasy out there. Saskia's in Berlin now, but will discuss details with her when she's back.
