So we have been way too busy the last few weeks. We are in the process of selling our van to get a smaller car for our trek across the country back to Ontario. We are also in the process of trying to pimp out our indie gogo page as much as possible without pestering anyone. We are working on some video blogs and general content for everyone. It may takes us a couple weeks to really get the ball rolling but were working on it.

We are currently in Thunder Bay, Ontario on our way back to Timmins. We will be starting the casting process as soon as we get back as well as a whole slew of pre pro stuff. We have shot and edited a bunch of content so far for our video blogs. I PROMISE, MUCH MORE TO COME.

Hello board.

We are a week away from our first press release. We will be hitting up all the local media outlets to get the word out. So far the town has been very supportive of us and it seems like everyone and their mothers, really, wants to be a star. This whole process is starting to become more real than ever and it's quite a scary thought. Luckily we are documenting the whole thing and will come to you in the form of video blog updates as well as a feature length documentary on the final product. Also, we are meeting with an amazing local musician this evening to talk about music for the film. I don't want to give away any names until the hand shakes have happened, But I am really excited about it as music is going to be a huge part of this film. And we hope to give exposure to a bunch of amazing artists that people have never heard of. What fun is the ride if your on it by yourself right?

As a side note. I have noticed that the thread has a few hundred views and only one person has commented. Is this thread the definition of mediocrity? Usually on these boards if something is great it's full of comments and if its crap, it's also full of comments, so I can't help but think we have created something that people are completely indifferent about. We could definitely use the feedback as this is our first kick at the can. What do you guys like? Don't like? What do you want to see more of? Less of? General advice? Inspiration quote? Funny cat picture?

Thanks,

Yet another video blog update, still not really related to the film, but were getting there I promise. We are in the midst of the media campaign and casting starts in the next week or so. MORE CONTENT WILL COME. But, WE NEED FEEDBACK. What do you guys want more of? How can we make this more interesting for you? Any general advice for us on our first real kick at the can?

Also,
Were still kicking on Indie Gogo.

Hi Adam.

Just been watching your videos, your pitch, looking at your indiegogo page.

I haven't watched a whole lot of these indiegogo pitches but to me it feels like a lot of it could be cut out. Not too much - because you guys come across well - and I do think it is important for the audience/pitchers to see a slightly more candid side of you, but I think it could be a little tighter, especially in regards to what the film is actually about. I think the approach you've gone with now will work for your friends, your family, friends of friends - but I don't think it's entirely effective for people looking to throw some cash at a great film. People that have no idea who you are don't really get a sense for what kind of quality to expect, why they should pick you over all the other pitches on the site.

I did enjoy your vlogs. Personally I feel they might be too long, it almost seemed like the first three could be one 10min video. Having said that I did watch them all and enjoyed. I like the soft acoustic guitar and vocals stuff you've got going on in the background.

Anyway - I contributed $12 - Unfortunately I do not drive a lamborghini (yet, haha!) and I wish you all the best with your project. I will be checking up on the updates, and watching all your vlogs.

Peace.
Chris

June 8th, 2011

It has been a long few weeks here in the North. We had received an overwhelming amount of support from our community in the form of free press and publicity, donations and people wanting to be involved in any way they can. We auditioned over 75 people in a 3 day span with more still coming out of the woodwork. The process is long however, and it has been way more work than I ever imagined. I thought I was prepared mentally, I wasn't. It is really a shame that so little of making a film takes place on set, and I am realizing now that I really hate having to wear a producers hat as well. I am also worried that all this focus on social media, pre marketing, etc etc is taking too much time away from the fine tuning of the story, and without that good story, what the hell is the point of marketing it? Then there is the fact that I am now in the most debt I have ever been in. I have been working on this for little over a year and there is no sign of financially greener pastures anywhere in my future. No wonder so many people fail at this.

My apologies for this turning into somewhat of a journal entry. I am going to try my damnedest to start updating this more with what's going on. Maybe with more photos and videos.
For now, I will leave you with some links to various things.
