Some stills taken from footage of a film being shot by me and my friend for our major production for our TV/film course at college. Last shoot this weekend.

I was cinematographer/cameraman and lighting and he was director and makeup. The rest of the jobs were shared between us and one of my other friends was boom operator.

I shot on dvx100A with anamorphic lens and with in-camera letterboxing on to get the 2.35:1 cinemascope ratio. 25P PAL cine gamma etc. 1/25 shutter most of the time.

Had a few focus problems on close up shots with anamorphic lens but that was probably due to the iris being between F3.4 and OPEN and the shallow DOF.

Anyway, hope you enjoy. Going to enter it in Tropfest Australia if I can edit it to under 7min with credits.

cool grabs. i especially like hte lighting in the 4th one, beams of light are always a winner for me :) Work lights? hehe

your third grab was well executed. How was it done?

Cheers. Shot him moving his hand up first with no makeup and then again after make up without moving camera or anything and you just do about 10 of each and you'll get one that will match well enough and then do Picture in Picture on one of them in avid and crop it so you get the other one in :).

We had an old house that had a fire earlier this year and the week before we shot the builders ripped down all the wallpaper to check the structual condition of the walls.....It was soooo dusty in there. Two full nights of shooting.

That slash of light is a redhead pumping through this old wall that was just made of lattice sort of thing but before the fire it was full of mud brick stuff....... with light green gel. (confused? haha)

I have another film I'll upload some shots from. I was cinematographer/cameraman, editor and sound mixing.

Cheers,
Tom
