Hello everyone, I wanted to release some initial information about the next film I’m working on.
Title: The Grace Card
Synopsis: In racially charged Memphis Tennessee, a searing personal tragedy has left police officer Mac McDonald a bitter, angry soul, blaming a long downward spiral on minorities, “the system” and God Himself.
Who better to bring this simmering kettle to a boil than an African-American pastor-cop named Sam, who’s just been promoted in front of Mac, and assigned as his new partner?
When a routine burglary call goes horribly wrong, Mac McDonald hits bottom, and stares into the Abyss of losing it all—career, family, and any reason to go on. His only lifeline is Grace, offered by the God he’s abandoned, through the gift of a man he can barely stand.
The question is, will he take it?
THE GRACE CARD. Production begins October 12.

I’m co-Directing the film along with David Evans, the original writer. Howard Klauser (Writer, Space Cowboys) has revised the script after being suggested by Rich Peluso (Affirm Films, Fireproof, Faith Like Potatoes). We also have John R. Saunders (2nd AD, Milk, Walk the Line, Into the Wild) helping Produce and serving as Production Manager. Justin Tolley (2nd AD & UPM, Fireproof, and Production Manager on Lost) will serve as our AD. Stephen Dervan (Fireproof) will have a bit part in the film, which we’re excited about. The list of talent on this film continues to grow…
We’ll be shooting on the RED and aiming for theater worthy production values in every way possible. We’ve been able to gather complete support from the Memphis Police Department (we’ve been told it’s never been given in this capacity) and are being helped with everything from uniforms, to using the precinct, to weaponry and police cruisers, etc. An entire floor of St. Francis Hospital in Memphis is also being given to us which is a huge Blessing and money saver. There is so much more to tell but this post is getting long already!
I’ll release more information like cast and such as time permits. God has brought together a fantastic team for this and the church support in Memphis from Calvary Church has been incredible. We just had a production meeting last night and made some great progress.
Time to chop at the bit, as always.
Producer/Director (and only those two things this time…)
