Michael Bay did alright producing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, so I'm not really all that worried.
Did I just say that?!

The Texas remake kicked ass. A first rate horror film.

I did enjoy it (mostly R. Lee Ermey, even though he was a little too Sergeant Hartman) enough to buy it, but I probably wouldn't give it a "kicked ass" endorsement.

I find the first 4 to be great horror stuff; the rest just spiral into poo poo.
I love Crispin Glover in 4. Too funny.

Its better than the bizarre series of sequels that followed, but I am one that liked the remake better. That's not to say I don't have problems with it, because I do. But overall, I really enjoyed the remake. Jessica Beil is two of the reasons I really liked the film... hehehe... seriously, some stunning cinematography, great tension and some truly horrific scenes (like having to kill your friend).
