Care to explain ?

i understand you're a horror fan and all. I'm just not a horror fan so i haven't seen a lot of them but of the ones i have seen to ME they're basically the same. there are obviously more exceptions than i thought. to me if its a choice between a horror film or no film at all i choose no film at all because i really don't like them. I do like the Scream movies and i liked 28 Days Later King Kong (but for some reason i don't see that as a horror film) and there are a few more on that list that i liked but again i just don't prefer them.

sorry :(

well i've noticed i've made a mistake... i just caught it... when i said that i thought all horror films are the same i meant that all SLASHER films are the same (basically) i should've specified more and i apologize

I'm watching Part V right now (among other things with my ADD) and its the one where they dig up the grave in the beginning. And I noticed they buried him with his hockey mask on (and his machete).

I hope when I die they bury me with my serial killer mask on

LOL, you know to bury someone in their mask is almost asking for trouble isnt it? You might aswell put a shovel and an array of powertools in the coffin too.

Well, then

Now I started PART VI (With Return of the Living Dead's Thom Matthews) and dare I say ?

It's so far as I have seen, the best of the bunch in terms of Cinematography, Score, acting and scares.... ?

Ill finsih it tonight !

Part VI was certainly a step up. It's also, I'd argue, the introduction of a certain comedic element to Jason's gleeful murder. The arm on the end of the machete?

The Triple Head Decapitation is worth the price of rental alone.

As for Favorite. I'm totally with you on IV. But I'd add VII to that list. Horrible premise however i feel its the best incarnation of Jason. The first time Kane Hodder took on the roll and my favorite make up job what with the exposed bones in his kneee cap that actually move when he walks. Amazing.

The Gf got me the collection for Christmas a year ago and after repeated viewings i learned how much i love these movies. Even more so than the Nightmare series which i have grown increasingly bored with over time. I lay no fault at the altar of Robert Englund rather i feel the creators of the latter sequels deserve the blame.

The kills are just so much fun in the Friday series.

I love Jason Lives! It's great. Thom Matthews kicks ass in it and Jennifer Cooke (Megan) is freaking hot. Great flick.

Last October, AMC played a couple Friday movies with random fact graphics in the letterbox portion of the screen. I never realized before then that the original was shot mostly existing light. They used lanterns as practicals and their were a few of the night exteriors where they lit them, but is was almost all available light.

I knew jason lives had a better look compare to all the other. i watched it recently and it was made in 1986 but yet its film stock has a clearner look than those of the series after it. its like a lot when to the visual look of it. plus first time we see monster jason after decomposing. classic one. as for nightmare on elm street there two rumors.

one is about the next freddy vs jason.
The better one which is semi confirmed is about A prequel to nightmare on elm st. called Nightmares and its under the helm of writing david lynch and direction of terry gilliam. it seems to be under the radar. if its true that's freaking sweet.

I have such a softspot in my cold black heart for the Ft13th movies. I just adore them. They are such a guilty pleasure. Yes, I saw them for some T&A as a teenager, yes I saw them to see what new inventive ways they could come up with to kill bad actors, yes I saw them without a parent or guardian!!! So sue me!

Once you get past the first few, the movies really get insanely bad...from the "plots" to the actors. There are some awesome moments here and there (still love seeing Jason in Times Sq for 2 seconds even though the rest is clearly Canada... * Sigh * I guess Jason takes Toronto didn't win at the Paramount board meeting).

But you really don't see a Friday for plot, Shakespearean acting, and great direction... you see it for T&A and good gore...

I'm curious to see if there ever will be another Friday of note, but with 11 movies total it will be hard for Hwood to greenlight something new and worth doing... instead we'll get a steamy turd like When A Stranger Calls. Just hang up.

FYI, for all you Friday fans...check out the Return to Crystal Lake doc if you haven't already seen it. Very cool and a lot of fun. Also, the Crystal Lake Memories coffeetable book is waaayyyyyyy cool. Lots of great pics, nice trivia and interviews (even Kevin Bacon!). A nice job. Get it while you can. Hard to find.

It was only a matter of time. if it does reasonably well, the Halloween remake will inevitably get the go finally as well.

* Sigh *
Taken for what it is, I don't think there is any way to improve on the original.

yeah but most audiences will probli say it was better than the original. same happen to the fog. They said it was awesome i was like have seen the original? they were like nah but i know its aint better than this one.

I wonder who they'll cast as Mrs. Voorhees???

Let me guess, they turn Mrs. Voorhees into a 30something bodacious bombshell who gives birth to a highly deformed mutant.
