So, here it is. Take a look and build your own opinion. The first 70 seconds were all shot with the Heliopan - mainly on a street party around the corner.. And the end you can watch a side by side comparison: the left side is always with the Heliopan. Footage is untouched - just some stabilization in post. UHD / 29.976 downscaled to 1080p.

 
Looks better. Glad you found something that suits your need and shooting style. Congrats on at least a proper high quality Vari-ND.

That's the prior generation being discussed. As Emanuel notes above, I've been shooting with the first batch of their RapidND line that's just been released (info at the cited thread) and it performs measurably better. The innovation in play now is reducing the width so that there is less of a gap between the rotating polarizers, which squeezes out aberrations otherwise attributable to the gap. I also like not having to get a different-sized lens cap!
 
Heliopan seems sharper than native acquisition... LOL

It would be nice to see a comparison between the Heliopan and the new RapidND, though.

Haha..., yup - due to that some scenes look a bit more contrasty you can come up with the idea that it is slighly sharper...

One last thing: in other tests they often bring up the extraordinary high price of the Heliopan, but it seems that the prices here in Germany are different. I payed for the 77mmm Heliopan 180,- Euros at a Amazon Market Place:
