The Eye Piece

I thought about the eye piece for a while now. Seen the photos of the camera many times. But no! Sorry! It don`t seem right. Did some photoshop tests with the DVX100 eye piece, and it looked great! How about it?! Maybe the Panasonic guys could give us something familiar. I do love the eye piece of the DVX100.

And while there at it PLEASE make the viewfinder black&white! Or at least switchable, cause wehn you're filming HD out of focus is REALLY out of focus. And I don't think a color viewfinder will do...
Hope someone from Panasonic is listening...

True.
We'll just have to see I guess. But I've found B&w lcd viewfinder easier to focus than colour ones. And since I have to use my cam in ENG situations aswell I like it to be as easy as possible. Hope the focus assist will be practical. At least you can use this one while shooting. Sony kinda forgot that on the Z1. But then again the Sony strangly began to show some resemblance to a toy camera these last days.

Terry is right, there's a world of difference, and you're *not* going to see a CRT at this price level from any of the manufacturers.

The DVX100A eyepiece is switchable to black & white or color, I would expect the HVX to be similar.

However, for focusing, the "Focus Assist" function that blows the image up to pixel-for-pixel accuracy, combined with the peaking function, should make focusing a practical reality.

Though it's kinda funny- black and white CRTs were just about the only things you could expect on a camera back in the old Hi8 days. Then came the amazing color LCDs. Hmmm. :)

Why can't we have a crt at this price point, my old Hi-8 had a great crt, focus was never a problem, I've never seen an lcd that was even usable. Any dv I've ever used I got better focus with the flip screen than the eyepiece. It has a colour flip screen, please give me a b/w crt eye piece. It doesn't even need to be 1.5" broadcast viewer, like I said, I could always focus with the little half inch on the old hi-8. It's a given that it won't be hd, so why not? Or maybe they could put on an iterface that would allow broadcast finders to be used, I have an old jvc, don't know how universal the interfaces are, maybe adapters?
