With the disclaimer that I consider Red users a strange mix of highly skilled professionals and oddly obsessive brand loyalists, one could argue what is US made or not US Made by using some very simple bookkeeping tricks, mostly involving the allocation of the R&D and other overhead expenses.

Side note - don't know how many of this site's regulars visit the Canon user residences like the Canon Rumors and Fred Miranda but they tend to be a bit "us. vs. them" too. Bring up a Sony camera and you can expect to be pummeled into a near submission. Verbally, of course.

I heard that if you try and print digital images taken with a Nikon Camera on a Canon printer the printer refuses to print them....

I've had no problem printing from my Fuji camera directly to my Canon printer, they must not consider Fuji a threat :grin:

Etcha sketch sounding good though. Got any LUTs for that? Alsways comes out looking kind a grey to me.

Will the next Jinnimag video happen?
It is one thing doing it from behind Apple who are advancing the heavy armour but with Apple's case dismissed Red's eye will turn to Jinni....
From what I can see Jinni have, re the Mag's and the Monitor a good point. As for the rest of it... Well as Apple have retreated (or been rebuffed) Jinni might also have to retreat.
We are talking US legal action which depends on MONEY and Lawyers more than the truth.

1 Will the court case be live streamed? I know some parts of the US do this (famously the O.J.Simpson trial). It will be fascinating to watch.

2 I note that among the web of RED companies is Landmine Media. So I suggest people are mindful of that before biting (too hard) the hand that provides this very forum.

3 I note that Red.com LLC isn't in Las Vegas City :-)

I had wondered what had become of the trainwreck that was RED's publicly facing image last year? Looks like they picked the wrong person to mess with.
Yet people are still hot to buy the Komodo?

I can understand locking the threads but deleting them? no real point as I suspect any thing useful has been screen dumped.
I wonder how long before discussion here gets killed?
 
It’s not a good look to lock threads, and then delete them.

They deleted one of them and consolidated the discussion into a single thread and that’s gone now.

Though as the video illustrates, when you have the very actors being challenged in the court filings making public statements on REDUSER and FB, and then having those statements being used against you, I can understand why they’d want to shut that down.

Still, from what I can tell, he’s going after them for defamation, and misleading business practices so they only have themselves to blame if he’s found to have a case.

They seem to contradict themselves in their own forum, which as he points out, they’ve quickly rushed to distance RED themselves from.

RED have long been rumoured to have a practice of stifling those that have bad experiences with their camera. I’ve heard of them asking for NDA’s before they will make things right again for those in the hole over an issue with their cameras. I actually have heard of this practice from a few people. Every time someone says RED services is great and so reliable I think of the poor buggers that had to sign an agreement not to talk about their poor service to get the good service everyone says they have....

I think some of Jinny’s claims are a bit of a leap, but he also wouldn’t be getting traction if there weren’t a few that have felt the same way....
