The Dreaded Church Of Scientology

If I lived anywhere near LA, I'd join you in a heartbeat. I enjoy messing with people (especially the creepy cult types).
 
I live in Vegas but I'm up for a road trip!!!:evil:
Maybe we could time it where I could drive out early one morning, do the shoot, and get me home the same night???
We could all wear our DVXUser shirts and get Jarred in trouble???:laugh:
 
I wonder what they would do if you tried to walk in there with the camera rolling ;). After all it's "free" right? Though I'm not sure I know what the "free" is in reference to...
 
There's a lot of celebrities that are christian science, like Tom Cruise. The security gaurds might be on a power trip to protect their privacy?
 
People, I don't even know where to begin....

I spent three months investigating this entity and a few of it's members. I can't get into it, but believe me it's not benign.

Use google if your interested. You can also look up a book called "Lonesome Squirrel" I believe it's on-line. That would be a good place to start...

[EDIT: I think a doc on this subject would be great, but DEFINITELY do your secondary research first, and as much as you can of it. This is one of those subjects you don't want to go into lightly]

hey sirius doggy, I know exactly what you are talking about. Some friends and I went out to shoot the I think its called the Janis Terminal and we only had time to jump out of the truck and shoot the jet pull away befor two Las Vegas Metro pulled out of the terminal and asked us to stop filmming and leave. We asked them why and they said beacuse they told us to. I'll try to dig up the footage some where.
 
As for the footage. Loved it. Nice job. But I was disappointed to not see any cameo's by Tom Cruise or John Travolta. :)

As for Scientology in general... what he captured was no lie no matter if you think his editing is biased or not. I know a guy who had to make a delivery there. Let's say he's not the cleanest of people... but the stares he was getting walking down the sidewalk he said made him wierded out. Also he said he could see people in the windows taking pictures of him.

Apparently these people target the low-self esteemed and make them feel appreciated. The whole L.Ron Hubbard thing is also still a mystery.

Just be careful guys, these people are loons.
 
That location is about 10 minutes away from my apartment, walking distance. Whenever I go into that area I get very weird vibes. I never know who is a scientologist in disguise or who is a regular person. They are seedy people. When I was there filming my short film, a janitor pushing a garbage can asked me if I was going to make money off of the pictures I was taking and all kinds of other weird questions. He kept staring at me in this uncomfortable way so I told him to "F off and mind his own business' he did
 
Come on - let's get like 20 of us together to do this.... I'll bring my wife and she can drive one of the get-away vehicles!:grin:
 
Yehhhh! we can all get together wearing black capes and Mardi Gras masks shooting with our DVX's.... Not sure what would be more creepy...us or them......

I seriously would like to do this. All of us will wear black attire and NO ONE will speak to any of them if they come out and question us. It will be very creepy and very interesting to watch. Like I said before, anyone in the LA area, contact me via email and we'll set something up for the very near future. Sirius doggy, you and your wife are more than welcome to shoot away like mavericks!
 
Man, I wish I could get in on this! I'm on the opposite coast (Orlando, FL).
However, maybe we could coordinate something here. The Fort Harrison Hotel, Scientology's headquarters is right here in Clearwater, FL. Would love to see if the same thing happens over there.

i have no idea what scientology is all about ,but am curious . theres 4 pages of bad mouthing them here with no explanation why except they are "creepy people" could someone tell me what they are all about? just curious

My uncle actually works at Area 51. He has to take that plane into work every morning. He does radar work there.
This is after being in the airforce for 30+ years.
