The Dark Knight

There was definitely some added layers to his voice... it sounded very digital at our favorite theater, which happens to have great sound. In some films I find ADR to be distracting, but in this theater his voice pulled me out nearly as much as the ADR in Arnold S's earliest films.

If they were just going to do ADR for the BatVoice, they should have used Kevin Conroy. He sounds convincing, not constipated.

Okay, it's official. This movie kicked a$$...big time. There were a few moments when it was, "come on" but it still delivered.:thumbup:

btw, I AM NOT a fan of movies made from comics, either.

The rumor mills are spinning now on Angelina Jolie as Catwoman. Apparently Julie Newmar's industry sources said that Angelina has been positioning for the role. I can't imagine they are even seriously thinking about specifics yet, but it would be a good choice IMO if they went for that character.

if that's true i will NOT see Batman 3

It will be a sad day if Angelina shows up in the next Batman movie. What a terrible, terrible idea.

Michael.

Almost every film that Jolie is in, I am not interested in.

However, I saw A Might Heart when I was on a plane last year and was absolutely blown away by her performance. Very restrained, very believable, and very moving. Nothing like her other films. The movie really stuck with me.

I am more concerned with the idea of using Catwoman at all, since that character is based on having superpowers which don't fit into Nolan's Batman. I don't think it would happen or even makes sense.

I am even more concerned with her casting herself as Dagny Taggart from Atlas Shrugged, if that is really happening.

Well, I'm not so sure about Nolan's Batman not having super powers. In The Dark Knight, Batman bend the barrel of a shotgun (or rifle), not really sure how one would do that without super strength.

Heath Ledger was amazing! I forgot I was watching a batman movie, shoulda been called The Joker. Everytime Ledger was on screen he completely ate it up. By a very long shot his best 'flat american' accent too. Laughed my ass off with the pencil magic trick.

I really enjoyed the film overall, only probs I thought was the batman voice, they should have went maybe half way with it but then again, I think it'll grow on me. I also thought the reasoning for Dent to turn bad wasn't carried out to well (reminded me of the poor transition for anakin to vader in revenge). Hoping they'll put a bit more of the Dent sub-plot in an extended ed.

So much for Nolan's "real world" approach.

I saw this last night and I thought it was superb. This was beyond a super-hero movie. It was a great film. Outside of Superman I and II, Nolan's Batman films are better than anyother superhero films made.

I finally saw this the other day, and was disappointed. It's basically a Michael Bay movie with the same unmotivated explosions and cliche dialogue, but with better actors and a better story.

Joker was great, but at times looked forced -- too "acty".

I really liked the story structure, which was an increasing series of complications going beyond the traditional three acts (which is something the Coens do). I hope more films do this in the future.

The biggest thing which disturbed me was that it was set in a different "universe" than the last film. With the exception of a few major props, the set-design was completely different. Even some of the actors played their roles differently. I think for this reason this movie will fail a back-to-back viewing with the previous film.

No doubt there's a lot of hype around the film though, but how much is studio-driven and much is deserved? I think a lot of people are latching on to this film because there's nothing else to get hyped about this summer.

Actually, he has a mechanical device in his hand that he uses to bend the rifle barrel. The cut to it quickly a couple times to let you know its there. Its the same thing he is using to cut through the side of the van.

You must have seen a different movie than I did. Chris Nolan has more directorial acumen in his left nutsack than Michael Bay does in his entire body.

Can we get off Michael Bay? I think the forum should soon be renamed to www.michaelbayuser.com since everywhere I go, discussions about him are good or bad.

I saw the film today, I was disapointed, but also pleased. Thought the film was amazing. Batman's voice was a lil gay. Loved the way the Joker was played, absolutly stunning. I felt truly sad when leaving the cinema because I know a performance like that just won't be repeated again. For obvious reasons.

Still, people say this was Heath's last film, but on IMDB it says he was doing another one that's now in Post-Production. I think he could have had more screen time to. There's alot I could say really. But so many people have asked me today what I thought. I should have just copied and pasted, now I can't be asked.

He was on Imaginarium when he passed, and he did shoot already. The word was that since the film is a bit "out there" anyway, that his character would be played pay several different actors - a different one in various parts of the film.

From the IMDB page, it seems those other actors are Depp, Farrel an Law.

So strange that such a straight director like Gilliam would do something that wacky.
