The Dark Knight

Anyone who read the comics knows he puts on the low, husky voice when he speaks in character.

Ledger: brilliant. Genius, even.

Movie: sorry; minority opinion here, but Begins was better.

I dont think anyone is saying he shouldnt try to disguise his voice, the point is that it sounded ridiculous.
I think it only sounds ridiculous if you know it's Bale/Wayne behind the mask. If some guy dressed like Batman just kicked the **** out of twenty guys and then talked to me with "that voice"... and I didn't know him! I would probably piss my pants.

:crybaby:

Still. I would use an electronic device to obscure my voice as apposed to talking like a bad ass. :Drogar-Love(DBG):

So I see your point.

But where would Batman/Wayne get a device like that? I dont think he has the resources.

Penguin, your work the last couple days has melted your brain.

Also, watch out, I just noticed someone with the screenname "NinjaVsPenguin", so you might wanna watch your back.

Penguin, did you also think I was serious about Don Cheadle?

all in all. I thought it was a great movie. alot darker than some of the more recent superhero movies. as far as Heath being gone, they could give him a subtle nod if they end the third film with the beginning of the graphic novel: The Killing Joke. I think thats best way to prepare the audience for another joker. if they ever go that far.....

The whole Hong Kong sequence was superfluous and self-indulgent. Would have been nice if they had taken that part of the budget and made Gotham City not so obviously Chicago. Looked nothing like it did in Begins, and in some scenes, it looked like so many '80s low-budget flicks shot in warehouse districts. (Wayne Tower going from a fabulous Art Deco monolith at the center of the city to some boring brown office building built in the early '80s?)

I liked it overall; it was just disappointing in a lot of ways after Begins. Freeman looked like he didn't want to be there. Caine so obviously wanted to bust out of Alfred. Gyllenhaal was bad . . . and she looked like she hasn't slept in two years.

Ledger was (as I said) fantastic; Bale was good; Eckhart was good; Oldman is genetically incapable of a bad performance.

The one thing i truly agree with on the post above is how they screwed up the city. It looked much better in begins.

Other than that I think the acting was on que and i think freeman was SUPPOSED to look like he didn't want to be there... in the story he leaves...

but overall kick ass movie. ledger deserves an emmy or oscar. if they gave him one, no one would disagree.

Melted my brain? Why? Because I am having a real conversation? Harrumph, then!

And no I did NOT think you were serious.

Oh, and yes I saw that person and commented on my slight fear. He said he was the Penguin part so I have nothing to worry about. We'll see...

Very interesting. For me, these are the parts that MADE the film. It finally felt like Batman was in a real world for once. All the other films just felt like 3 city blocks in a sound stage that they tried to play off as a whole city. For once they were actually IN a city.

Ditto for Wayne Enterprises. They took it from fake and campy and into the real world. This, for me, is a step up.

Looked much better in Batman Begins.

Aw c'mon Brandon...how can you say that? :)

DK has plenty of flaws, some easily identifiable.

For my viewing experience it was perfect, but so was Prince Caspian for that matter, and Wall-E. I don't EVER judge a film by it's flaws, or analyze it, it's all about the EXPERIENCE for me.

I've been a lifelong batman fan from the days before it was cool to be a comic book fan.

I liked Dark Knight very much, but I agree with Jimerson - the wayne building sucked - I was also thinking - why are we in Hong Kong?????? - and I also felt the city looked to chicago-y.

I liked the Begins gotham better.

Did anyone notice how the Swat team had different fonts for "SWAT" on there back?
It bugged me.

Dude. Talk about nitpicking. Jeebus...Saw this in IMAX today. Mindblowing. See it not just for the visuals, but the sound which will punch a hole through the back of your brain. I saw it at the Universal IMAX and stood in line next to Joe Dante.
