Besides the included backpack, there is another carrying case option as well, which can be seen here:

The LED 1200 comes with an AC to DC power source like the LED 600 does. Battery operation is possible through a forthcoming external battery interface. That interface will operate up to 2 LED 1200s or 1 (future) LED 2400 (not yet available). You'll be able to use one or two lead acid external batteries or one or two V or AB type batteries for the power source.

Feel free to contact us at info@coollights.biz or ask any questions you like about the LED 1200 on this thread. Thanks for looking.

This looks awesome, would buy it in a heartbeat if I had any spare money or need for it right now. I guess you guys don't have a showroom in Hong Kong? How about Shenzen?

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. We don't have any showrooms at this time. If you're going to be in North China (where I am at the moment) just make an appointment and we will try to have whatever you want to see on hand for demo.

Can you talk more about the CRI in the bi-color? Is it a new LED technology, or did you include a minus green filter on the LEDs? And if so, how much less is the output compared to the standard 1200? Product looks awesome, and I'll pick up at least one this year. Also looking forward to your LED fresnel, when ever that may be. (I hope) :)

The photometrics are listed under the "Specifications" tab of the product page. Its not that much less than two LED 600s really for the bi-color model so its a good sacrifice.

Its not new LED technology. Its an old idea and just acknowledging what is missing most in daylight single color LEDs can be found by looking at their spectrum compared to daylight. They're missing much of the red component. This is just a bi-product of the way an LED is made to emit white light. So bi-color or RGB panels combine two or three colors to help replace whats missing.

In an RGB, you have all the primary colors used to make up whatever color temperature you are wanting. With RG and B at full then you have white light. Vary the red and blue components slightly and you get different color temperatures of white light.

With a bi-color, its simply a combination of a very low and high color temperature LEDs (extreme towards red for the lower color temperature and extreme blue towards high for the upper) which together mix to form whatever color temperature you want by controlling those two groups mixture with independent dimmers. With both dimmers full up, we tuned the panel to 6000K which is standard HMI color temperature. Turn down the tungsten end dimmer and the panel's output becomes more and more blue as you go, effectively raising the color temperature. Turn down the "blue" dimmer and the panel keeps lowering in color temperature. Mix the two and you can get whatever you want between the lower and upper extremes of each set of LEDs.

The CRI of such a panel is in the 90s and doesn't require any more minus green as a result so we don't enclose a filter set with the bi-color unit as its not needed. You won't have the feeling of a green spike at all. Its a very pleasing light and of course you can make it whatever color temp you want too.

Thanks Richard for the expanded explanation. You just convenced me to get the bi-color version when that comes out. :) Not in a hurry this time, so I'll wait for the domestic shipping. ;)

If there's enough demand for it, yes we could do a bi-color 600. Not many people have asked about that before now. Perhaps with the introduction of the 1200 with that capability it will get people thinking about it more now and more will want the smaller unit as well.
