Anyone excited about these new cameras. If so do you agree with the price. I personally would like to see 1/2 inch image sensors and interchangable lens. I am glad Canon went with the card system and would still like to have the tape option. Maybe all of this will come with the bigger version if they put one out. Would like to hear your thoughts.

yeah... can the CMOS. i shoot mostly action footage right now, ie drift events and even some F1 series work... With no new 3CCD cameras coming out, the best i have to look forwards to is HVX200A/HPX170 based on what i can afford to purchase.

Either that or get on the ball with universal shutter and CMOS. for DECADES now we didnt have to think around and work around skew and jello; why the HELL should we have to deal with it now?

You are right the quality does look good. I am not knocking the camera. I just think that I would pay this kind of money without a thought if it had interchangable lens & 1/2 inch image sensors. Otherwise I would give more thought into buying these cameras.

Thanks Zissou & Cowpunk for for thoughts on this & the the footage.

Hello
I just bought a canon fx 300 and i am having problems to view the clips when I download them to my external hard drive. I can only see them with the memory card reader and the fx utility. Any suggestions I will appreciate them

Hello
I just bought a canon fx300 and unless I play the clips directly fro the memory card with a card reader, I can not see them when I try to see them stored in the external memory. Any suggestion I will appreciate.

use adobe premiere, you can drop the .mxf files onto the timeline to play them and scrub the play head to view
either edit in premiere or transcode with adobe media encoder to prores for fcp

hox250 is $5000 (plus rebate with 64gb p2 card) 10 bit 4:2:2 with HD SDI
xf300 is $6500 with no HD-SDI
xf305 is $7500 with HD SDI

price wise, the HPX250 absolutely is awesome. makes me wonder how much panasonic can make a C300.
