C100: The c100 underwater - or GoPro 3 black?

Hi All,

I have a shoot coming up where I will be capturing a lot of footage around and under water. I have been looking at the ewa-marine v100 as the only possible option to shoot with the c100 - or the other option would be to get a gopro hero3 black edition kit. They both come out to be around the same price.

Does anyone have experience with the ewa-marine? Can the ninja-2 fit inside of it as well or will only the camera fit? If the ninja won't fit, both cameras would force me to be stuck with h264 footage... I'm doing a professional color grade on a da vinci so need the best image and compression possible.

It would be great to get any thoughts or advice. Thanks so much.

Doesnt the Black have a capture setting designed for color correction? Obviously the S35 imager would smoke the Gopro!

Yes, you can install a "protune" that gives you a bigger file and flat color - but you're obviously stuck with the 3 lenses built in and I would have to carry 2 cameras. Obviously the plus is that you can take a gopro on a jetski, cliffdive, etc - but I would imagine (and hope) that our $6k camera should give a better picture than the $400 gopro.

The other problem is I wouldn't want to leave the c100 on the beach when I take the gopro into the ocean... so i would end up having to shoot a lot more with the gopro than I would want - by not even taking the c100 when I'm near water. No PA to hold it.

But, on the other end - I imagine that pulling focus in ocean water would be a huge pain.
