The buzzards are a circlin' Final Draft Ned...

A couple of days ago here the standard was FD. Now it's FD and Movie Magic.

Just saying FD is a clunky buggy overpriced piece of junk that you can never really own because FD only supports the latest versions and won't give new activation codes when you buy a new computer.

The bottom line is software makes no difference whatsoever regarding success or failure in Hollywood as a writer. Nada. Nunca. Niente.

This IS stale as a discussion topic, Alverez has already gone on the record saying I'm right and everyone else is wrong. He said that. His words not mine.

why don't we keep it to what features you like / what software does or doesn't have said features /
what's accepted in the industry etc.

Basically anything other than "so and so said such and such and is a big fat know it all".

It doesn't matter who said what at this point. Keep it to a civil discussion of the industry and the software in question please.

Thanks.

The Mgmt. :D

Most of the line producers or UPMs that I've worked with use FD or MM and it's for a simple reason: being able to break down the script and export into Scheduling and Budgeting software. It makes workflow so much easier on that end and it's a bother if the screenwriter doesn't have the format they need. They can get straight to work instead of having to hire a typist to transcribe the script into FD or MM.
