The best music video iv ever seen

That was the dopest hip hop music video Ive ever seen! is there an interview with the director somewhere about this MV?

Singer greenscreen. And then skilled people in the background.
I really doubt it was green screen...i think it was masking..the singer is on one clip and the stunt guys on the other so when you mask you can slow down/fast forward the stunt guyz and leave the singer on normal speed

When the guy is walking and the rest look like they're flying past him,i think that was just done by them jumping across the screen then slowed down
my two cents

The singer is not on a green screen, as you can see from the reflections in his glasses. He is outside.

Not to hard to do with a motion control rig.

Motion control rig????

Yeah, what has that to do with motion controll? :D Most of the time the camera is on a tripod...

Watched it again. Could be masking and rotoscoping. Or could be ON SET greenscreen. So you can see the reflections. The composit is not that difficult, due to the resting camera.

Very nice example of effects, clean and a very talented artist in front of the camera with crew that compliments him well.

When I look at the contrast (detail) there is a slight difference. I am in agreement that there is a "Green (probably blue) screen" in the background,
dolly for his movements in front (side to side), then when he is walkign in the middle of the action, there is a person in the foreground (his right) working with the dancers in the green screen for a more realistic effect.

Not an expert, but I think the motion has several names, time-remap, warp, but it involves using keyframes and speed control. Done with the correct frame rate on video and it is AMAZING! I consider this to be a pretty good example.

He's definitely in a studio in the shots where he's moving normal speed and the background isn't.

Check the reflection in his glasses. You can see a big ol softbox.

It's some kind of matte of him at normal framerate and then undercranked shots of the background. Could be a blue / green screen but it also might be a luma matte. (If I was shooting it I might do that to avoid spill) Also, my guess is that the camera is moving and he's standing in place because the reflection in his glasses doesn't move.

Nice i didn't notice the reflection doesn't move!iv emailed him and asked him how he did it..just hope i'll get a responce(fat chance)

I suspect they shot this on the Phantom HD at 500 or 1000 frames per second for the slowmo background stuff. The dancers reversing is just the same clip reversed and placed end to end over and over again. The singer is probably greenscreened in over the top. He looks like he is actualy on a sliding platform sliding past the camera infront of the greenscreen aswell.

That twisty effect is probably a more fine tuned version if this:

Yeah, brain fart there. For some reason when I watched it the first time I thought during the entire thing the camera was dollying down the sidewalk with him. That could use the benefit of motion control (a pass for the rapper and a pass for the bg dancers).

I still think it was shot on location and not on a sound stage, however.
