The A-Team movie!

Looks like this one's finally shooting. Of all the TV show remakes this is one I actually want to see. Great movie potential....The cast isn't a home run but acceptable. Neeson lacks George Peppard's charm but I imagine they are going for a slightly more serious tone. Would have rather seen Clooney or Mel Gibson. Bradley Cooper from The Hangover is perfect as Face. Not sure about Rampage as B.A. but he looks the part, and Sharlto Copely from District 9 is Murdock...Joe Carnahan is directing. I didn't like Smoking Aces but Narc was pretty good. I'm glad he finally got another movie off the ground, as his last several projects crashed on the launch pad. I cut a trailer for him once and he was a super nice guy. One things for sure, if they don't have that music theme accompanied by a montage of weapons being built and traps being laid, I will walk out unfulfilled--

I'm sure Neeson will do a great job, but I too thought that Clooney would have been about as perfect as could be for Hannibal.

Speaking of Clooney, it would have been fun to see Steven Soderbergh's version of the A-Team:

Hannibal = Clooney
Face = Pitt
Murdock = Matt Damon
B.A. Baracus = Ving Rhames

The Villian/Gen. Hunt Stockwell = Terence Stamp

You're right, they better have those crazy MacGyver-type scenes where the team builds some contraption out of junk and uses it to escape and defeat the enemy. Also, the opening needs the A-Team title card that pops in synced with the sound of machine gun fire, right after the short opening narration.

Jessica beil as the army general chasing them is my only problem so far. Commingsoon.com has pics of her on set and she is way to hot to be an army general and way too young.

I liked smoking aces at times and narc was good as battuta said. This will definately get my milk money.

Do you think people will die in the movie version?

People rarely got killed in the original TV series. That was one thing about the show that made it different/unique/cheesy. No matter how many machine guns were fired or bombs were thrown or handmade tanks were driven through buildings, everybody always walked away unharmed.

:)

Are you serious? Nothing against her acting skills, but she's playing a freaking general? Are you sure it's not that she's supposed to be a Lt. or maybe a Captain or something? I could buy that, but a freaking general at what, age 26 or 27. Hell, I don't even buy into her as a fighter pilot in Stealth, which at the time she would've been even younger.

This film isn't taking place in some Terminator or Battlestar Galactica world where nearly everyone is dead and they have to promote young soldiers and officers to higher ranking positions.

This info from comingsoon.net has to be a typo. If not, way for them to make Hannibal look freaking ancient now.

LOL. not a typo. Here is an empire online article. and I could not agree more.

I don't understand any sentence containing both the words 'Jessica Biel' and 'problem.'
Well said.

I think Rampage Jackson is gonna kick ass in this. btw, Who's watching Ultimate Fighter season 10? Rampage is too funny in it.

Thanks Rich been listening to iPity. Particularly like "I still got two feet, so kickin' you ai't gonna be no problem!".

I think it still should've been Ving Rhames as B.A. Baracus. That would've been awesome. Almost too perfect. I mean Mr. T was the man and everyone loved BA so you have to have that same vibe and I think Rhames could've done it.

Trailer. Overall I like it. Looks fun. Love the hints of the theme, just wished they'd gone all out with it at the end. Rampage looks like he's doing a hipper version of B.A., but it probably would have been a mistake to do a straight up Mr. T impersonation--

This looks... well okay, but nothing great. At least it looks much much better than GI Joe. I would also assume it will be leaps and bounds better than either Transformers film as well. Neeson as Hannibal seems to be the most accurate recast of all the A-Team characters.

As for BA, a lot of chatter on the web seems to be putting forth the notion that Terry Crews, who played President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho in Idiocracy should've portrayed BA instead of this Rampage dude. I could not agree more.

Actually, I think this franchise suits Steve Sommers much better than G.I Joe. It has CAMP written all over it- well, it was a camp TV show...Other directors that would do this justice would be Rodriguez, Paul Verhoeven and Raimi.

I'd love to see Paul Verhoeven's subversive R-rated A-Team with nudity and over-the-top action.

I'm quoted for years as saying the perfect cast would be: Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, Jim Carrey & Ving Rhames...

After following the developments with this cast tho, I gotta eat my hat...it's bloody PERFECT casting!!
