The 2nd Annual International DVXFest Screening Event in Los Angeles

Going to post this here as I need HELP!!!

I have a few questions - Yes, Ive been to LA a few times, but of course I dont know where things are exactly etc.

So, should I just stay in Hollywood? Or do you recommend downtown LA? Or somewhere else? Keeping in mind I dont want to be too far from the event, wouldnt want to get lost trying to get there if I take the Metro from Hollywood for example. Is that a direct line into downtown LA on the Red line btw?

Another question - notice the event isnt far from Little Tokyo, might drop in there on my way through and check it out - worth doing? Safe?

And final question - Anyone want to catch up on the Friday night, grab a bite? Bowling :P Few beers and a chat? As long as I dont have to play drunk air hockey with Tom again Im set :P

Any other out of towners going to be there Friday night? Looking for something to do?
 
I would definitely recommend staying in hollywood over downtown... while both are grimy... hollywood is less so and there's definitely more cool things to do. And yes, you can hop on the red line and go straight downtown no problem. I would look for places from Hollywood and Vine, to Hollywood and Highland, or even up to Universal City (as those are prime spots with sh*t to do and the red line runs right through it).

FYI I am driving to San Diego on Fri morning for Comic-Con. There is an actress going to be there that morning I want to try to meet. Anyone else planning on going?

Sadly not this year. As a born and bread San Diegan nerd/filmmaker it breaks the heart not to go. But hey, if you wanna get together afterwards Friday evening let me know, drop me a PM, I could probably coordinate something and get the other few San Diego based dvxusers together for a night out.
 
Unfortunately, I will only be there mainly for the one panel that morning, from 10-11. Then driving back up. But you are going to the screening on Sat, right?

Well I'm officially booked - arriving the 24th and leaving on the 30th. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Am bringing Chandler Clark along with me who played Samantha in Bob & Sam. Its her first trip to LA - anything she HAS to see? Already visiting a couple of schools shes considering attending and just getting a feel for the area in general, but am open to suggestions.

but, sadly, no ... there are no official name tags. If you choose to fashion and wear your own then that will help others to quickly identify you.

Otherwise you can do like we did last year, either have someone point you out that already knows you ... or just grab someone and say, "What's your dvxuser name?" :)
