Testing out a FS700 this weekend... Advice?

I have the opportunity to borrow a demo FS700 this weekend to do some shooting to see if I actually want to spend the cash on it. I am going to shoot a lot of different situations and lighting conditions.

I plan on playing with the settings a lot but does anyone have some advice on how I should set it up right out of the gate? I would love to get a nice organic "film" type look from it with as much DR as possible. (I know, I hate when people say that, too). I'll also be shooting a lot of low-light stuff in restaurants and bars.

Thanks!

Point it at some fine gradations, expose so those gradations move from 90 through to blown

Say a light pointing at a wall with fall off..

Point it at stuff and hit record.

What more advice do you need?

I dunno. Maybe none! I figured that thing has a lot of dials and buttons and doo-hickeys. Maybe I'll just stick to shooting in the different cinegammas and be done with it!

Stay wit Gamma 4 and knee full up, slope zero for starters.
For lowlight Gamma 1 is what you want.

Yep, I haven't shot with a 700, but I hear the doo-hickeys can really get you in trouble if you're not careful. Dials and buttons...Bleh. Everything from a nuclear reactor to my junker car has dials and buttons, but them doo-hickeys....woah.

Seriously, have fun. I'd like to see a run and gun type shot. 24 or 30 fps , sunny day, city traffic flying by, with the sky in the picture.
