If you know what you are doing with the dvx100a it will not even whisper home movie - but on the other hand, its unlikely it will scream or whisper 35mm feature film.

So - this is a nice to have unless you need your film (for whatever reason) to at least whisper 35mm - then it becomes a needed investment.

depends what results you want, how much money you have, and how much time you have to work with new equipment

Well.. like I said... I am a rookie...so that should tell you a lot. My strength is creativity. For once in my life, I am actually a rank amateur in a technology (my usual strenghths are computers and cars)

As I have said in a another post, I am being deployed and this check will be going into investment for my production business. I am getting two DVX100A's. One will be shipped to the house, the other will be shipped to my deployment area so I can use it during the mission.

So I really will have a varying range of shoots, so I wll probably getone of these with some decent nikon lenses or canons to start.

White Flash!!!
In your original clip, there was a White Flash effect inserted between clips.
It was just a quick flash of white. I was asking how you did that. I wasn't
referring to any accidental strobes. Just wondering how you did that.
Or, maybe I've got the wrong thread. I watched the clips again, and didn't see
and special FX. Am I going crazy?
Anyway...Thanks,
Adrian

I haven't seen the vid yet (downloading it when I get home), but the white flash was likely accomplished by inserting a white matte into the timeline then quickly ramping up the opacity which quickly fades to white then ramping down again to remove the white. Is this how you did it, smelni?

there are no effects whatsoever - so either looking at the wrong clip or it was a codec issue - sorry
