Thought some may find this useful. Compression doesnt allow you to see the image as shot. Watch in 1080 for as close as you'll get.

T5.6 on each. Weakest is 14mm, but still overall pretty good.

Tested a new light unit with the 85mm Samyang CIne lens that turned up today. Heres a quick grab. This is @ T1.5 (wide open). LED's in BG are battery operated - 2 x AA. Total watts for lighting here is about 5... believe it or not thats what it is.

That's a beautiful shot but it doesn't appear as sharp as I know the C300 to be. I wonder if it's my eyes fooling me, or if the operator missed critical focus by a tad, or if it's the resolving ability of the lens itself. Care to elaborate?

Thanks Noel. Would have loved to see a benchmark lens in there somewhere. Hard to tell with no known factor.

How to you rate them yourself compared to other Canons, let's say?

Agreed. Believe me however at t1.4 youve got like 1mm on this thing and even then it isnt that sharp - great at f2 or above. F2.8 very good.

Well Ive never really used many Canon lenses as I lean more toward Zeiss, however these plastic lenses do a very good job - if you factor price they do an excellent job. Ill post some more on these in the next few days.

Bokeh is nice! I'm thinking about picking one up and comparing it with my 85mm Zeiss CP.2. The CP.2 is a PL mount so I would have to use my AF-100 to compare them. Maybe it's just me but I like the look of a lens wide open when it gets a little soft and vignettes. It's just cool looking. The Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 has that look as well and I love that lens.

Some more from another thread.

These are all Canon Log with a quick grade to REC.709 space. Shots chosen as I thought they may be of interest - very fine one eye focus on the 85mm wide open, lens flare characteristics etc.

This first series goes 14 mm - 24 mm - 35mm (just noticing due to image size here - not really doing them justice. May have to reup to my own site so you can take a closer look).
