test footage A1 & FireStore work flow

Ok, so here's my 1st test footage of the A1.

I shot it with the FireStore Pro HD capturing everything. I have to admit, the workflow is flawless and better then tape. It's just amazing!

So the footage is m2t files and only a few second slong. There's a 1000 watt spot on the kids so it's blown out a little bit but I was really only testing out the workflow more then the imagery.

REMOVED

the first link is set up on a dolly.

Also, the file will download as *.m2t.txt so modify the file name to remove the ".txt" portion

¡¡ Oh snizzle !! Coffee's first posted footage.

Edit: Color saturation is great. Pretty rich. Did you do that in post?

Good job on scoring a Firestore for some tapeless love! Tapeless is definitely the way to go, man.

coffee, I downloaded the files and removed the ".txt" suffix but couldn't get the files to play. It's still just text. (I'm using a mac) What am I doing wrong?

coffe, I can't wait for that promised footage (A1 & $14 stabilizer)... I'll download these ones plus that link received by PM, as soon as possible during this week when I'll be beyond my Wifi (by now).

I'm not sure I promised to post any stabilizer with the A1 but I'll try to work on that. Time is tight my friend but I'll see what I can do.

heh, looks a lot like my usual available talent. ;) The curly haired kid made a cool gun out of those blocks. I bet he's ready for Lego Star Wars. :)

I built the stabilizer a while back and it didn't really help me out that much. People have pointed out that the design of the stabilizer actually goes against the physics of "stabilization." The stabilizer really only helped me when I needed to move at a jogging speed while maintaining a handheld look.

Footage looked good. Every time I watch my footage or others from this camera I watch it 20+ times because I enjoy the quality of it so much.

You call that significant? P'hew I hope you never saw what is happening on the bad days. Its highres sharp and playfull.

gain wasn't up and I'm not sure of the settings. I just played with everything and said, oh well, let's see how this turns out.

lol

Contrats on the camera, Coffe. I downloaded all the presets posted at dvinfo and it really made my life "difficult". They're all so amazing it's really hard to choose. I must have said it a million times all over the forums, but I have to repeat my self...I LOVE this camera.

Are those your kids, Coffe? I always pictured you as a teen film student :D

lol, i hear that... i just spent about 20 minutes outside filming them again. It's so hard trying to focus in on them because they're never in the same spot for more then two seconds.

Ok, I'm heading over there now to download them and try them out.

As for me being a film student? LOL, I wish I had time for that. I'm a 31 yr old father of three, married, mortgage, full time job and looking for a girl friend! LOL
