T2i Test-edit. Including timelapses

Just finished my second test with the t2i. Love it so far, shoot with it every day! During timelapses, I connected the camera to my laptop and used the "eos utility" -software to set the intervals. Then I used quicktime pro to open the image sequence.

This is the first time Ive done timelapses with a dslr. So much fun, but I think I need to gain alot more experience to get it correct. The timelapses was shoot with 7sec intervals, 140frames> played back at 25P, atofocus off, IS off, whitebalance on auto.

Should I set the whitebalance manually? Any general tips about camera -settings to shoot timelapses?

Nice work, some beautiful shots in there. What kind of dolly were you using?

Definitely set your white balance manually when shooting timelapse, along with every other setting (shutter speed, aperture, ISO). You may, possibly want to let the camera automatically meter if you're shooting a sunrise or sunset but other than that, keep it fixed.

Thanks a lot! I use a selfmade pvc-dolly, works great. I think Im going to buy a timer remote shutter. Found this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19691
Very cheap!

^^Thanks.
Lets say I want to do a timelapse of a sunset, is an UV-filter enough protection? Maybie a polarizer

I'm also interested in this. Sorry if this is a stupid question but can you damage your camera filming a sunrise/sunset if you don't have the right filter on? And what filters are recommended for this? I assume that a polarizer might not work well because they're typically used to film at a right angle from the sun but I'm just a rookie and could have that all wrong.
