I need to live stream a 2-hour operatic event and would like to hear from anyone who has done this with the Teradek VIDI-U.
I am reluctant to just buy it at $700 USD so I am looking to a) try it out at one event to make sure it works b) see how many subscribers we can get for a typical event.
I will be uploading to Concert Window and hope to attract some 300 subscribers who will pay $4 - $10 to watch it live.
I don't altogether get the difference between watching an event live versus after-the-fact unless 1) the event is sold out or, for b) people in distant cities who don't want to travel.
We haven't yet figured out how to have the live streaming not compete with in-theatre pricing of around $30 per ticket. The hosting organization says they cannot black out specific cities.
