GH2 Tekkeon-powered GH2 rig

It's been a year since I owned my first DSLR rig (for Canon 7D) and since then I've tried and bought/sold others, and accumulated many rig accessories mainly from Chinese sellers.
But I think I've finally found a good balance between functionality and weight.

Points:
- This is a straight rig as my Zacuto EVF is offset.
- The Tekkeon battery and mount also doubles as a light counterweight
- My most recent discovery was the Duo Flash Mount, designed for mounting two flash guns for photography. The arms are quite strong and don't flail around much. It's much more convenient adjusting the arms compared to standard articulating arms - especially when the rig is on your shoulder. The arms won't be strong enough to hold a large monitor, though.
- The ST grip can remotely enable video recording. It was something I discovered long ago and was part of my Tactical Rig that I used to sell. I modified it with a longer cable to suit rigs (before it was only about 20cm). It is really annoying to have to reach over to the record button every time, so this grip makes life so much easier. This is one unique function of the GH2 compared to say Canon DSLRs.
- The Cinetactics' Matteblox io made from ballistic nylon and is super light. It also has room to put one 4x4 filter. I also have a longer french flag for it. It's much less fussier than a regular hard matte box - no need to adjust height, no need for extra rod space and it's ridiculously light! It does the exact same job as any other matte box.

Oh, and the lens is a Tokina AT-X Pro I 28-70mm f2.6-2.8

Sweet setup, nice light and relatively simple.
Have any hows the chinese FF? Im looking for a cheap FF for my Nikon 28, 50, and 85... nothing fancy.

It's cheap and real good. Not much "strength" for stiffer focus rings. Think the average price nowadays is $150

Very nice config! I'm not a fan of the offset rigs, as it makes the weight balance funky. I guess it is a matter of personal preference. Either way, very clean straight-line setup.

How sturdy is the matteblox connection to the lens when you add filters? Any slipping when you drop 4x4 glass into the filter holder? I noticed their "Anamorphic" model appears to have space for 2 filter stages?

Very cool indeed. I have a couple of tekkeons. How and what are you using them to power? What is the shutter record option that you have and how does it work? Is there also a way to configure this to also start the Zoom recording at the same time?

Very nice setup....

Well, I think the decision for offset vs straight depends on how you intend to view your image - like if I had a LCD loupe on the GH2' monitor then I would go for offset so the camera is directly in my face. But in this case I have an EVF so no need for offset.
Everything is quite sturdy when you attach it strong enough. You're basically pulling on a velcro strap. But the filter is also safe as you gotta squeeze it in there. Even if the matteblox does fall off the filter would be protected. Yes I also have the anamorphic version, designed for the LA7200. But they use removable filter holders attachable via velcro.

@Justyn
The Tekkeon is just to power the GH2. I set it at 8.4V if just the camera (though battery error pops up when I try to do 720/50) and 9V with a HDMI monitor attached. I thought of also powering the H4N as well, perhaps I need some sort of power splitter. Will try that soon.
The Cinevate handle is of course available from Cinevate while the ST grip can be bought via eBay (I got mine in Hong Kong). Search "Lumix ST Grip" etc.

Very cool. Thanks for the info. How do you connect to the GH2 with the tekkeon? what cable/port? thanks.

Well first you need a DC coupler. There is an official Panasonic one, I think it cost like US$20-30 - but it was hard to get one back then. The Tekkeon comes with cables and adapters so just pick the right one and set it to the right voltage and you're good to go
