good angles- i like the cc'ing you did above this. keep messin looks good dude

Which post number are you talking about. I've posted so many stills, I'm lost. Thanks for the kind comment though Zach.

Hansk, lol. Our beautiful actress Alex was great. She was so much fun to have around on set. I like the look you gave the stills but I don't think the red tone will work for the story. Thanks though. I appreciate your guys help and suggestions.

Not you Trunks. I guess the guy retracted his statement. Some douche-bag just signed on to be a prick and was posting idiotic stuff. I think his exact words were, "What the hell? You suck!" He said location was hell. Numbnut.

Good luck with the CC, Trunks.
Sorry for the interruption! Proceed!

It all starts w/ the lighting man. No amount of CC can improve upon bad lighting, not that your lighting is all that bad, just a bit flat. You can improve the look, which looks like you are going in the right direction. I really like montes look. It would make his house feel a bit more creepy. Right now you just don't have enough light to pull your subjects away from the background. There is no dimension. Keep messing w/ your CC, and grading, and I'm sure you will come up w/ the perfect look for ya. Keep us updated.

Thanks asylum, I appreciate that. I'll keep you all posted on my final look.

Lighting has been my biggest adversary. We have 2 750W Lowell Tota Light Kit. What I did with most scenes was put the 750W using an umbrella as the key light, than I took the other light (running it at 500W) and put it to the side to remove any harsh shadows. I just need to pick up a book or something. Thanks though.

I have to echo this, it all starts with good lighting...

i disagree with the statement about there not being enough light... i think theres plenty, if not TOO MUCH light. the problem is that the light is completely diffused, which just flattens and softens the entire picture. i think the whole scene could be fixed if you just play around with some specular lighting, and dont be afraid to be a minimalist. sometimes the less light you have, the more you are able to work with. it all depends on the situation, though.

Hansk, Thanks for the book advice, I'll check it out. Sounds promising.

Doc, you think I put too much light on my scenes? That's how I felt after shooting it. I felt that overlight the whole thing. I was also thinking that maybe the umbrellas made it too soft. I wanted it to have an even light all around the room because I thought shooting 500-750W of light directly at my actors would look bad. I was thinking about using less but I didn't want to underlight. I'm going to try alot more experimenting with the lights.

Looks fun. It reminds me of a production I did not to long ago about a flying psychic stuffed dolphin who murdered everyone in sight- it was a fun little premise. Good Times.

If you still have that, you have to send it to me. My wife loves dolphins. She would get a kick out of that.
