Hi There,

This is something fun we put together for the quick flick film fest in soho London. It was a fairly quick affair - just 2 days all in including editing.
It was all dvx & fcp - There are tons of things I would've like to improve on but the time constraints just didn't allow.
If you have real player or quicktime - I think you can open the url in the player by copy & pasting the address in the player after selecting "open url in new player "

http://homepage.mac.com/acen/teashortbig.mp4

It will be screened between 8 & 10 pm today at trap on wardour st.
This months theme was "pleasure" - check out www.qfworld.tv for info on the fest.

Cheers

;)

Reminds me of an episode of Family GUy where they make fun of "thriller" movies

Re: " Tea " short film

I really enjoyed it. I think the editing really lended well to the shots and had a nice clean feel. Great work for two days!

Awesome, the editing and sound design are great. And a cool surprise with the tea maker's little friend. Nice Scarface touch.
Good luck

That was cool. Not what I was expecting-which is good. I like your style of editing! Good luck.

What more can be said. Awesome editing and sound effects. Love the music and your good timing. Loved the colors as well. Great job.

Very well done, I enjoyed the style.

I have a question, what do you use for sound, do you guys have musicians who compose it for you, or is there another way ?

thanks,

..this was some good stuff. im not a horror fan at all .. but even though i dont go for the whole tired idea of the person being secretly tortured is revealed thing. I really liked the way this was put together. very very well done . :) really made the genre fresh and interesting to me.

Re: " Tea " short film

Nicely shot and edited. I am not a fan of short cuts, but in this piece they are totally appropriate.

I loved that music!

Re: " Tea " short film

Re: " Tea " short film

another technical question:
what kind of tea was that ;D ;D ;D

nice short btw.

Luvit!! Great work, Carrington. I'm impressed with your Hitchcock twist. You show just enough tension / violence to grab my attention, but not gross me out. Great story teller. You rock dude.

PS: Mind the gap please... (Must add... I love the UK, tho haven't been there since the '90s)

Carrington nice work. the pacing went a little off between the tea making scene to the big reveal . I couldn't help but noticed the guy was hanging in front of an open windown so the whole neighborhood could see. Speaking of neighbors what did they think when you had the guy in your living room?. I liked the slow shutter speed. What were your settings? Just my 2

Hi Elvis,

Its good you noticed that about the window ( shows your paying attention :) ) The whole appartment is on a bridge & the window actually looks onto an old dis-used warehouse with absolutely no one able to look in - Maybe we should've expressed this somehow but - it was not important enough. Also - he is hung up in front of a wall - so - its not too open.

Anyway - " tea " went down very well at the quick flick fest - really appreciate the feedback here & cheers for all kind comments - keep'em coming  ;)

Hi Michal.
The tea was just normal british tea by the way - Twinings I believe  ;)

No ana here - just post.

Re: " Tea " short film

VERY cool! Loved the editing and the twist (also, great courage on shutting your camera in the fridge, how many takes did that shot take?)

Couldn’t help but notice another Scar Face parallel, did you originally plan to use a chainsaw on that dude rather than a shovel? (that’s what I thought was coming up after I saw Pacino on the tube ;)).

Yeah, I really enjoyed this this short. I think it was the nice composition and the sharp editing. Very nice job!
