Ok so I purchased the timer remote for my 7d in order to shoot timelapse, and I would like to ask if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how to set it up.

I watch the Philipbloom dvd but its very vague and he does not explain in Detail how to set the device he only states what he set it to!~!

One more question is How to set the exposure in sec. increments example 2 seconds? is this controled by the shutter speed if so HOW.

Well If you have Purchased a TC-80n3 for your 7 d

the set up for Timelapse is very Simple with the 7d

1 good Tripod
2 enough media storage and battery or the ACK-E6 Ac adapter if shooting around power.
3 good wide angle lense ..10mm or 11-16 2.8
4 tc-80n3

Camera settings video/picture
select : picture mode and shoot RAW files

Exposure is set with the shutter (the little dial at the top right of the camera in stock setting) mAX EXPOSURE on the 7 d is 30 seconds ..

You can accomplish the setting speed by turning the dial at the desired exposure counterclockwise until you see single digits in the shutter speed indicator on the viewfinder ie. 1"3, 1,2 and so on all the way to 30 seconds at max. this will be how long the iris stays open.

ISO : set the ISO if exposing for more than 1 second at 100 ISO.. If you dont see the 100 ISO or its grayed out turn off Highlight Tone Priority.

the TC80n3 if you just purchased one IT HAS NO ON/OFF SWITCH WTF!! anyways just flip battery to turn off.

it has 4 settings

select MODE button to select the second setting which is inteval timer looks like 4 little boxes at the top with a 00:00:00 timer set this in second increments (00:00:01) to set how many pictures to take per second or however long you wish to wait between pictures takes.

Note 24 pics create only 1 second of video if on a 24fps timeline
and 30 pics create 1 second of video for 30 fps timeline

So Find a spot set it up Follow the instructions and the press START on the TC80n3 and WAIT. the pictures will display on the lcd as you take it..

if shooting STARS use the longer 30 second exposure to creat awsome stellar images like the one on THE Phillip bloom Video.

NOTE daytime time lapse do not require very long exposure

is this the knock off TC-80N3 found on the linkdelight web site? they are out of stock. have been for some time. link her
