Tascam D60 and Nikon D7100/D7000

I'm thinking of send the audio to the D7000 (as well as recording it on the D60) as I feel the D7100 has much better video recording. If you use an external recorder do you feed it back to a camera as well?

You might as well since you have the option. I usually do for optimally lining up my audio tracks in post.

P.S. Have you thought about trying any of the hacks for the D7000? From what I've read, they bring the D7000 closer to the level of the D7100.

Yes, I use the one where the 64 bit is "high" 1080 and the old 24 bit is the "normal" setting. I think that that 64 bit (only records for 8.5 minutes) does better with fast movement and high detail scenes. With used D7000 being worth so little with the new ones selling at $500 or so, I took the chance a while ago and have not regretted it. For movie type footage (24P), it and the 7100 match up very well.

I meant to say that the 7100 has better audio in the above post.

If the Tascam is mounted with my rig, yep - you get very good synch audio that way. Even if I need a longish cable, I'll try to have it wired from the DR. It's just an iphone-headphone style cable, they're plentiful and cheap.

And with then 7100 you get meters and audio controls, so it's easy to gain stage it all properly.
