I'm am going on location to shoot a doc this Sunday. The crew consists of myself and the director who will be monitoring lavs in camera. No one else. I have a P2 storer and 2 4g P2 cards. The director really, really wants this piece in HD. The shoot is for 14 days.

How could I do it?
Why should I try?
Thanks.

Go for HD. The director may change is mind of the workflow is too slow. If you later on in the prodject notice that the workflow is too slow, just switch to tape and save the P2 cards space for any shots that need slow motion etc.

PS: You bought the P2 store to be able to do things like this, right?

720/24pn is going to look film, and with 2-4gigP2 cards you will get 20mins. of shooting, THAT IS A LOT.. especially for the quality that you are getting. Take your time, it iwll look at lot more professional. The transfer time after 20mins, usually is 1min per every 1gig, In that time it give the director and subjects to go over stuff.

If you are concerned about slowing down the process get a third P2 card. That way you'll always have two cards in the camera... with one downloading to the P2 store.
