Tape Confusion

My new DVX100b is in the mail and I'm wondering about tapes...

I know switching brands of tapes is bad for the heads and I have been told that I could use Sony Premiums (which are very accessible to me as I can get them cheep off my work) as long as I stuck with them and don't change to anything else.

I have also heard I should only use Panasonic tapes with my DVX because of the lube type difference.

Can anyone confirm which of these statements are true?

You dont have to use panny tapes, its just that they are very high quality tapes. As long as you dont switch brands, your all good.
