Interested in user experiences with this lens. I hear vignetting is a problem at 2.8. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to the Canon 24-70, and I can pick the Tamron up for around 800 bucks on ebay. And it also has VC. Anyone have any experience or maybe some footage they can share?

I know several people with that lens (including myself). If I lost mine, and budget didn't matter, I would still get the Tamron 24-70.
I don't know of any vignetting on it.

Pros: Great Image quality - 2.8 all the way through, VC is fantastic.
Cons: Zoom not particularly smooth, focus goes the opposite way (you get used to it, but annoying at first)

Can't comment on autofocus speed or accuracy for stills/video (don't use autofocus at all).

All of the in-concert footage was the Tamron 24-70

A good part of this was on the C100 w/Tamron 24-70

This was shot on the Tamron (the first main angle)

This entire video (other than a few of the obviously really wide angle shots) was all shot with the Tamron
