To tell you the truth I found the footage to be somewhat underwhelming, not your skills as a film maker but the camera. Seemed kinda fuzzy, thought maybe the video was still rendering. I had to check to make sure the video settings on Vimeo were set to high def. That's 4 K? I'll take the C100 anyday rather than pay $14,000 for that.

Michael:

What are you viewing on? I am watching it full screen on my 27" iMac in 4k and it looks very sharp. Must be your device or a slow Internet connection?

I am a little confused about this response....

Do you mean "ok"...or..."Ooooooo-K".....or...""O-Kaaaaaay".....or was this a quote from JJ Abrams when asked how he felt about the entire Star Wars experience?

It could be that you are beta testing some sort of interlaced deep seeded information like the scene in Contact when they hear the pulse of alien life and realize there is more data in there.

Either way...I think we all understand....there is more to you than meets the eye Mr. Lovecameras

Nice - what was your camera base setting & workflow (NLE, LUT , etc)
Edited in Premiere CC. Most was filmed in Wide DR (Main settings -> Gamma: Wide DR, Color Space: DCI-P3 Gamut, Color Matrix: Video). Color correction was mostly Magic Bullet Colorista III, adding some contrast by lowering the shadows, often lowering the highlights, and raising the midtones. A bit of color adjustment on the three-way color wheel, often warming things a bit. Added 15 sharpness in Premiere to most shots. There are three Canon Log 2 shots in there, such as the opening shot. I believe they were all C-gamut. I used some LUT in Magic Bullet Looks 3 (don't recall which), then used Colorista and other Looks settings to tweak from there.

Workflow was recording proxies to the SD card. I used Adobe Bridge to batch convert the file names of both the Proxies and 4K files so they would have the same names (the camera should already have them have the same name; I don't know why it doesn't); I converted the file names based on the HHMM (Hour, Minutes) that the clips were recorded at. Then I edited with the proxies, and once the edit was done, I then replaced the proxies with the 4K 10 bit files and then did color correction.

Edited on my MSI GT70 laptop. 235 GB of footage. I edited from my internal 750GB hard drive.

Is it a coincidence you used the same music track as I did for the reel I just posted?

Footage looks good though.

Very nice work. The added 15 in sharpness is very effective. All primes?

I flew down to Tampa couple of weeks ago to film the opening of the new Portillos, they're going national. Try them in Brandon. Best Italian Beef outside of Chicago.

Yeah, coincidence; I chose the track before seeing your reel. I sent the video to another guy I know, and he said he'd used that same track as well. And I saw it used in this wedding video a guy I worked with recently also used. Apparently it's a popular track. Has a nice beat to edit to.

Let me know next time you're in Tampa if you'd like to grab lunch.
