Tales Of Ordinary Madness

Words from Charles Bukowski's "Ham on Rye"

This was the first short I have shot on the 7D. I like how the small size of the camera lets me get more guerilla.

I used the kit 18-135mm, 50mm 1.8 and a pentax 100mm macro with adapter.

Let me know what you think about it.

This was awesome. The acting was good- on first viewing it felt a little hammy at times like with the pen but second time it reads as a newfound confidence- the VO was interesting I like that dash of Hunter S. Thompson in his cadence, and I like that pan cut trick at 1:45, the cinematography was really good.

One of my favorite movies is The Face of Another by Hiroshi Teshigahara and this is like a perfect humorous mini version of it. I just love that weird vibe it creates by shooting in real locations mixed with more stylized sets, and you captured all the self-loathing, alienation, dark confidence that comes with anonymity, that Face of Another has but you did it with more humor, something Face of Another lacks.

Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed it and will definitely check that flick out.

I wish I could take credit for what you enjoyed about this, but it's all Bukowski's amazing writing.
