C100: Taking the grip on/off when the camera is turned on?

I'll be shooting some dancing stuff and we agreed to mount the camera high below the ceiling so I won't be able to really reach it when there will be people in the dance room.

I have some homemade cable that allows me to attach the side grip on it and almost all of the controls work. I'm interested is it wise to connect & disconnect it while the camera is on? As the camera is above people I don't really want to leave the grip hanging as it might fall off or somebody might want to play with it...

Anybody knows what Canon says on this? Couldn't really find anything online.

Thanks.

....

nevermind, found it in the manual that you should turn the camera off.

I've attached the grip while it is turned on. It doesn't cause a problem from my experience. I find it hard to believe that it could cause an issue since it is just a controller without its own internal power source.
