Hey guys,
I am looking for your opinions on the T4i (650D) verses the 7D for video work.

I will be using it for 90% video work, so video quality is more important. I have a new 7D that i just picked up for £750, but maybe the T4i would have been better for what i will be using it for.

Cheers.

We don't know yet until we get in reviews. But the T4i is newer and has autofocus compatibility. However it won't have the build quality of the 7D.

Doesn't look bad. Always loved the look of the Canon image. The moire and aliasing is definitely an issue. But something that could be worked around with the right shots. Just sad you have to work around it.

Thanks, so it looks like i will be better off keeping the 7D.

The 650D is only £100 cheaper than what i paid for the 7D.

this is a nice camera the t4i the flip out screen is worth alot. I use a 7d alot and a t2i i also have a gh2 ans its so easy woring with the gh2 because of the screen.

T3i and 60D have a flip out screen, and both have advantages over the T4i (3x zoom, ergonomics). Plus they both have ML already. If you're not going to use AF, the T4i doesn't look like an interesting option.

At some point in the future, ML might be able to open up some interesting features though. I wonder how much of the Digic5 is being subdued because they don't want to overshadow upcoming camera announcements? I think it should be capable of better high ISO capabilities.

ML has never been good at delivering improved image quality. Usability, features, monitoring, etc, are vastly improved with ML. But they've never been able to go into the image-processing. Of course that could change, but...

Assuming Magic Lantern will work on new cameras is not a good way to make camera choices - ask any 7D owner.
