T3i to Dvd guide

I have searched for a while and can't seem to find a simple guide to convert a video from the Canon T3i to DVD. Normally I would just upload a video to YouTube, but in case I want to burn to a disk, is there a quick guide out there?
Normally with my DVX I would use Vegas to edit and Architect to author the DVD. Since Architect freezes everytime I select "Make DVD" I'm assuming there is a step I'm missing. Again, sorry if this is obvious to the normal dvxuser member. Thanks!!

for home movies etc. I usually just edit the footage in Final Cut and then take the completed video and just import it into iDVD which does the conversion automatically. It goes slowly (several hours) but it does the trick. If you're doing something for professional purposes you'll probably want a method that gives you more control over the conversion, but I find for home movies and so forth it works just fine.
