If you have a USB to SD chip adapter try and
format it to FAT32 with your PC/MAC. If successful
re-insert it back into the T3i and try again.
A PC/MAC FAT32 format will not be acceptable
to the T3i which uses a proprietary format but
at least you can tell if the chip is good or not.

Format the card in your computer and all of your problems are solved..........

got the same kind of error, card is working fine on a t2i, but cut after few seconds on a t3i. Formatted on PC.

Just in case someone happens upon this thread in a google search, I might also add that if your sd card is locked, (the little tiny toggle on the side of the card) you will get a similar error.

"a fake card? wow." - Yeah, this is a common problem all over the world, but now that we have the internet shopping, it is a growing issue in the USA too.

I have recently started having issues with one of my Transcend 32 10 class cards. Recording stops automatically. Makes me wonder about consistency of manufacture or longevity of card. When I first got the Transcends, they would sometimes give me a buffer warning, but never stop the recording. Now, one of them is stopping recording. Oddly enough, the class 4 PNY for HD video have worked well for video. No buffer issues. But they seem slow on the RAW photo capture. But if you need cheap video memory for first gen dslr (I say first gen, as the 2nd gen dslr's have started surfacing, like GH2 etc), the cheapest way to go is PNY class 4 for HD video. That said, I wouldn't really deter anyone from buying Transcends because they are cheap too. Recently, I spent a bit more on Lexar. They currently are about 10-15% more than Transcend, but may be worth it in the long run.
