T2i with BeachTek DXA-SLR

I am having issues with my T2i and DXA-SLR. I can record better audio with the BeachTek with the "AGC Disable" switched off but once turned on the "inaudible" tone is apparently being recorded. I've tried several different configurations, right channel, left channel, mono, stereo, etc. Been emailing BeachTek and they tell me that it should work fine with the T2i. Anyone else try this audio adapter and have problems?

I have the DXA-5D and the 7D but it should be essentually the same. Make sure your DXA-SLR is set to stereo. The "inaudible" tone is actually very audible and will record but if you are set to stereo it should only record to the left channel, when you edit only use the right channel (it might be that you "think" you are only using the right channel but you are actually using both...that happened to me for a while...in Vegas if you are using it right click on the audio track and select "right channel")

I have never been able to cleanly remove the audio tone from the left channel so it is really limited to recording in mono until Magic Lantern or firmware shuts off AGC

Thanks for the explanation. So when you playback in camera you are supposed to hear the tone because it IS actually being recorded? If so, I think that's the problem I'm running into.

Yes it records the tone so your left chennel is useless. Supposidly it's a 20kHz tone but I can clearly hear it so it must have some harmonics in it

I've been judging it based on the playback audio so hopefully when I pull it into FCP I can fix it.
