Hi all,

Just looking for some help, this one has me stumped. I have a AMD Quad Proc/ ATI dual Video card PC running Windows 7 (32). When I pull in video (1920x1080x24fps) from my T2i and play it back with Quicktime to review it stutters and skips really bad. The kicker is and this is what has me stumped is if I play it back in Windows Media player it plays back just fine. With that, when I try to edit that viedo is Premeire CS4 I get that same stutter and it is essentially use less. I want to use the raw format I pulled from the camera if I can without converting it.

Thanks for any thoughts...

h264 is not a good format for editing it is a finishing format. Not even your quad core processor is powerful enough :) to edit h264 from the camera. Playback should be fine. Update your quicktime and make sure you are not playing from the SD card. I believe the popular format for editing is Apple ProRes 422. I'm aware pc compatibility was recently added.

Phil Bloom goes into this in the video on the bottom of the page http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/education/technical/frame_rate_conversion.do . You should get MpegStreamclip and convert to a format that is for editing.
