t2i test - green color blur

I picked up a t2i and did a couple test shots. I've read about some of the moire, banding, and greenish blurs on the camera, but I wanted to post this shot and get a little input. I imagine there was just too much detail in the branches for the camera to pick up? With my settings and everything, is this preventable in the future?

No color correction or anything done in post.

Less depth of field would have helped there. The deep background does not need to be in focus. Open up the aperture and focus on the foreground, let the background go soft - although you are limited in this regard by the kit lens you used, you could have been at a lower f-stop than 9. Lower your ISO to compensate for the wider aperture and achieve proper exposure.

Ahh yes. That makes a lot of sense, didn't help that I was pulled back at it's widest at the point. Basically just a detail, workaround thing.
