Shot with 720P50 (PAL)
Lense: ef 18-135mm

This is my first test with 50P. Do you guys think I should shoot with 60P(ntsc) even though I live in Europe? I mostly produce edits to be posted on vimeo... How big is the difference between using 50 and 60P (other than the 10frames offcourse) for slowmo? Btw, sorry for my english, its not my first language.

Yeah if it's for online shoot the 'ntsc' mode. NTSC/PAL is meaningless to web video and you get more frames=smoother slowmo.

Looks great!

Even if it's for PAL delivery, it will be fine when you slowmo it from 60 to 25. I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about colour space differences any more.

Looks good.

You can shoot any frame rate you want (50 or 60). It doesn't matter BECAUSE you are converting it to your final frame rate (24, 25, 30?). This is what makes it appear slow.

Shooting 60 will give you slightly slower motion when converted to the same final frame rate. Fifty looks perfectly fine though, as your video shows.

This is all well and good, but if you're not sure whether you are going to use the clip as slo-mo or not, 50p is a safer bet as you can use it as normal speed or slo-mo, whatever you wish.

Just something to bear in mind.

Allright thanks! So I cant mix for example: 25P and 60P(not slowmo) on the same timeline?

Vegas will let you do it but it might drop, repeat or blend some frames, depending on how you have you project properties set. You could always interpret the 60p footage as 50p, then drop it on a 25p timeline, giving you only a slight speed change. This will only work if you're not syncing any audio though.

You're both right. I imagine you would know in advance though wich sequences are going to be slo-mo.

If you wanted to slow down even more try taking it into after effects and do a time remap. Twixtor makes a real nice plugin for Slowmo. The shots look amazing
