t2i music video (qscale -14)

howdy everyone!

I wanted to share this music video I shot solo the other weekend.

I put all the info on the vimeo page, but here is the breakdown:

magic lantern firmware (qscale -14), faithful picture style (0,-4,-2,0), canon 85mm f/1.8 USM Autofocus Lens, tiffen ND filters (.6,.9,1.2)
f/2.8, 1/50, 1920X1080@24p, ISO:160 (outside), 640 (inside)
Edited with FCP, graded with Apple Color
The inside shots were done in a photo studio with a cycwall using 4 of their strobes softboxed on lamp mode lol (hence the need for the higher ISO)
Outside shots were stabilized with a homemade shoulder mount
All focus pulling was done hand on lens

This was the first time i have used faithful picture style and I was really impressed! It was GREAT for grading, I've become a believer! Any questions/comments please feel free (but not about the music :grin

Great music video!

The studio shots are vibrantly colorful.

The exterior shots might be a bit on the light side imo but that might be a stylistic decision.

That girl has talent.

I normally stick with neutral, but I'm gonna give faithful at shot.

Question: Haven't tried qscale -14 yet (it seems to stop recording too often to be of use) but here's my question: Is it noticeably better than the normal default quality?

Quality looks great, not a fan of the music though. Those kids dancing in the back just looked so weird to me ?!!??

Nice quality video and you did a great job, but would have liked to seen less of those kids dancing. I can;t be the only one thinking this?

To me the difference was noticeable in quality. What memory card are you using? I'm using the $26 amazon transcend class 10 16gb cards and they rarely cut out for me. The only time on this shoot was when there was too much color/movement going on, like the end shot of everyone dancing i had to cut down to -12. Also if a shot does cutout for me on that qscale it does it in the first 3 seconds, meaning i know if it doesn't cutout right away i'm solid for full duration.
