T2i - more fun stuff

the thing with the t2i is it looks great on the lcd even with high iso's, then when you bring it in to the pc, it looks grainy. You just have to remember to keep the iso below 400. Or crush the hell out of the blacks.

I disagree 100%. I think his footage looks great, also iso is usable perfectly all the way up to 1600. When I use iso 3200 I use 30 shutter speed and get pretty good results. Film does not have a razor sharp image, so a little grain here and there actually makes the footage look natural.

Now to the OP, great footage you have there. Grain fits this nicely and brings artistic value to your clip.

i wish the t2i has the 1200 iso
thats the limit of acceptable grain for me in the 7D.
1600 isnt bad but its a bit too grainy for me.

I was using Sony Vegas HD Platinum for editing and encoding. My question is - what is the best OUTPUT setting for optimum image sharpness/quality?

A lot of people recommend Sony AVC and MainConcept AVC. Can anybody confirm if this is true AND recommend the TECHNICAL settings as well? I know if you want to maintain at least good video you have to set your bitrate up high - I set it to 15-20mbps range for this particular video.

Either way. Can anyone answer these questions for me in detail please?
