T2i Low light vs HVX

So, I have been using an HVX for a few years now as my primary camera. I need a second angle this winter for a second angle and I really cant afford the 7d for the dual processors, which from my understanding improve the 7ds low light capabilities over the t2i. I know it sounds like it doesnt make sense that I cant afford a 7d since I have an HVX, but I spent everything I had to get that thing.
Anyways, I just want to know how the t2i does in low light conditions compared to the HVX. Odd comparison I know, but I want to make sure they will somewhat match (after cc work of course).

Thanks in advance for help.

Well, matching cameras and low light performance are two very different subjects.

But I'd expect the T2i, at the same aperture and ISO settings of the HVX, to be in a completely different league. Maybe by more than 2 stops. My EX1 is about a stop faster for me than the HVX, and my T2i is at least a stop faster, maybe a stop and a half, than my EX1.

HVX isn't exactly known for its low light capability, T2i will do much better IMO and IME.
