T2i & Green Screen

I will be working on a music video for school next week, or the week after, and I was thinking of getting a few shots done on a green screen.

I've never done any green screen work before, but now that I have a DSLR, will making a music video with a green screen be hard?

Is there a specific way I should set the camera to get the best results possible so that I can simplify my work in post?

Does a green screen effect even look good when shooting with a DSLR?

any additional tips?

The green screen tests I did with the Canon 550D were terrific!

Nicer than that from my Hvx200.

Just make sure your green screen is lit evenly.

Depends on how you plan on using your keyed footage. You can pull a somewhat decent key, but it will take a little work.

Overall though these cameras are not that good for greenscreen work and if you need to do a lot of it, it's not recommended.

Well you're dealing with 4:2:0 color space much like HDV, however with your green screen lit right and your talent removed enough from it, you can pull pretty amazing keys. I've got a buddy doing matchmoving against greenscreens with the 7D and it's very nice.

If you have a 6 way (not sure if Premiere does) color corrector, you can completely desaturate the green once you've pulled your key. Helps a great deal with spill and acts as kind of a poor man's spill suppressor.

You can get a good key with any current camera. If it's lit properly you will get great results. If you think you're going to throw up a green bed sheet and use a lamp for lighting it will look horrible.

OK. thanks guys.

*No, not a lot of green screen, hoping to use as little as possible of it. The size of our shot is small too, about waist up.

There is one catch with this though, that I didn't mention. One of our challenges in school is to use iMovie (a free editing program) instead of F.C.P. or any high end editing programs. :Drogar-Thinking(DBG All I know is it is possible since it was done last semester, but not using DSLR's. I know it will not be as great especially since its on iMovie, but what you going to do, that's the whole point.

I will be the first to shoot with a DSLR. So, I was just wondering.
